What does the Consulting Division do?


We work closely with our customers to support them in their transformations as part of their journey to being data driven. From providing guidance and support in best practices to managing projects that implement the latest technologies. Regardless of the size we approach our projects with the philosophy of sustainable and practical solutions for our customers. This means that we partner with their internal teams to ensure knowledge transfer for internal growth, and we focus on upskilling and supporting the customers long term internal capabilities.


Our Client Programme


We work with a range of public sector, private sector and not for profit organisations from small start-ups to global enterprises supporting from data strategy to building data products.

This role of ‘Data Business Analyst’ will work within one of our global customer programmes to support on a multi-year data catalogue and architecture programme.

Within this programme you will be reporting to our Head of Consulting while engaging with an agile delivery and internal enterprise Chief Data Office.


Description


  • To elicit business requirements from various stakeholders through the combination of workshops, interviews, and data analysis.
  • To consult with Business and IT colleagues to lead understanding in data flows and process mapping to support improved requirement understanding.
  • To drive improvements in business analysis, development processes and data governance by providing best practices and clear concise documentation.
  • To manage senior and technical stakeholders to agree, document and demonstrate acceptance and test criteria.
  • To guide and advise on industry best practices and practical approaches in Data Governance programmes including Data Modelling, Data Cataloguing and Data Governance
  • To be a champion of Data Management and Governance best practices.


Profile


  • Experience of gathering complex requirements within modern data transformation programmes.
  • Evident in high quality process control and requirements documentation.
  • Ability to confidently organise and lead workshops, interviews and technical deep dive.
  • Excellent communication and confident in managing senior stakeholders.
  • Basic knowledge of programming languages such as SQL, Python or R.
  • Experienced in using PeopleSoft software.
  • Exposure to multiple data technologies and cloud environments including Microsoft stack.
  • Extensive experience in Data Governance and Management projects including data cataloguing, conceptual and logical data architecture and data definitions.
  • Knowledge of modern data practices and approaches including data architecture, governance and analytics.
  • Inquisitive and consultative approach for driving improvements.
