Job Description

We’re recruiting for a Dynamics Platform Engineer to join us. The post holder will join the engineering team where they will use their software engineering skills to build features, solve bugs, address technical debt, improve how we work and ultimately provide valuable, high quality software to our customers.

What you'll be doing:

  • Building, cleaning, maintainable features and resolving end-to-end issues with an understanding of different possible approaches, to ensure that we are delivering great outcomes to our customers as effectively and efficiently as we can.
  • Understanding and contributing to the management of technical debt within the team to ensure that Legal & General’s systems are secure, resilient and reliable.
  • Understanding, contributing, and improving test approaches within your team so that the customer experience is of the highest quality – with an emphasis security, usability and accessibility.
  • Participating in code reviews with an emphasis on both functional and non-functional requirements, considering, performance, resiliency, maintainability and security, to ensure that we consistently build high-quality, safe software for our customers.
  • Contributing to work that will continuously improve the team's approaches to security, quality, deployment, monitoring and operations, so that we can easily release and run safe, performant and resilient systems in production.
  • Being active in developer team meetings to keep colleagues informed and to create a forum for knowledge sharing. Effectively communicating and continuously collaborating with other team members to support smooth delivery of development activities within the sprint timebox.
  • Continuously growing your skills by undertaking relevant training in your role discipline.
  • Helping your team to ensure that all customers and stakeholders are treated fairly in line with Legal & General’s principles on the Customer Experience and Treating Customers Fairly policy.

Qualifications

Who we're looking for:

  • Intermediate knowledge of two or more of the following is essential:
  1. Dynamics 365 Customer Service
  2. Dynamics 365 Sales
  3. Power Apps
  4. Power Automate
  5. Power BI
  6. SSRS
  7. Logic Apps
  8. Azure Data Factory
  • Good understanding of software testing is essential.
  • Good understanding of Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment and other release strategies is essential.
  • Good Knowledge of agile software development methodologies, such as Scrum and Kanban, is essential.
  • Knowledge of web security is preferable.
  • Experience of writing well-optimised and maintainable software features is essential.
  • Experience of analysing, debugging and solving complex problems is essential.
  • Experience of working effectively in a team is essential
  • Experience of taking ownership of your own learning is preferable.
