The Role
CFO – Global Macro Hedge Fund re-launch (Ideally to be a Fully Qualified ACA, or ACCA Accountant)
Martis Search are representing a Mayfair based “Global Macro Hedge Fund” to hire a “CFO.”
The role reports into their CEO and is looking for either a Hedge Fund CFO, or Head of Finance to step in the CFO position.
Our client trades most related asset-class types, such as Equities, Fixed Income, OTC Derivatives i.e. Interest Rate Swaps, CDS (both Vanilla & Exotic OTC), Futures & Options (ETD Derivatives), Commodities and CFD’s.
The role is responsible to manage their Hedge Fund Operations, Management Accounting and Fund Accounting responsibilities (managing two small sub teams, which includes Trade Support and Fund Accountants).
The chosen candidate must be of graduate calibre and be highly “Hedge Fund” Head of Finance, CFO literate and must come from a Hedge Fund background, ideally from a global Macro Hedge Fund background.
As well as Operations, it is mandatory to be Accountancy literate (in relation to working in a Hedge Fund).
Our client is preferably looking for someone to be either “Fully-Qualified” ACCA, or ACA. In addition, our client will also potentially look at someone who is not a Qualified Accountant, but who is very savvy with global Macro “Hedge Fund” Fund Accounting and Operations.
The role will involve managing both their Hedge Fund Operations, Management Accounting and Fund Accounting teams and also responsible for all Regulatory Reporting (i.e. MiFID II) and Tax Reporting (Annex 4, Form PF etc).
External companies i.e. Administrators and Accountants do the actual Regulatory Reporting and Tax Reporting, but there is oversight of it all, so and you have to have an in-depth knowledge (but you will be signing off on certain accounts and tax reports).
The company use an outsourced Operations and Fund Accounting model but have inhouse small Trade Support and Fund Accounting teams.

Salary
£150,000 k pa - £250,000 k pa plus a very good annual discretionary bonus, pension, healthcare etc. FYI, No annual bonus buyout on offer.
