Reporting directly to the Associate Director, Innovation & Enterprise, the Project Manager will lead on implementing projects associated with 4 new apprenticeship programmes. You will be responsible for creating project plans and risk registers and ensuring everything is on track for completion.

This is a full-time hybrid role with the team going into the office usually up to twice a week, depending on the nature of the project. Ideally you will be immediately available to start the contract as funding is until end of July 2025. There may be scope to remain an employee within the university thereafter as this is always encouraged with several previous employees remaining thereafter.

Key duties will include:

  • Maintaining comprehensive project documentation, including plans, risk registers, and progress reports.
  • Applying effective project management methodology based on individual project context and requirements
  • Ensuring timely and high-standard delivery of diverse projects through effective supply chain management and collaboration.
  • Partner with the University teams to ensure projects are effectively communicated and meet all requirements including contractual, regulatory and internal quality/governance standards and are effectively communicated.
  • Contribute to project delivery by creating products and collateral and updating internal and external stakeholders regularly.
  • Act as a liaison between partners, clients and internal teams, ensuring project goals align with commissioner needs.
  • Effectively identify and manage risks to project delivery and identify and implement suitable mitigations to ensure issues do not impact overall deliverables
  • Maintain effective project governance structures, including management of project governance meetings such as project board meetings, providing papers and agendas in advance, taking notes and keeping comprehensive meeting records

Key experience and skills required:

  • Experience in initiating, implementing, and maintaining project management processes that play a key role in the success of an academic department
  • Experience working with diverse stakeholder groups and managing project communications
  • Excellent planning and project management capabilities
  • Experience of audit, compliance and reporting requirements relevant to this post
  • Strong communication (verbal and written) and relationship management skills, including effective stakeholder and partnership working
  • Ability to prioritise workload, exercise good time-management and the ability to work to deadlines, and excellent organisational skills
  • Ability to adapt quickly (and positively) to changing demands and priorities
  • Advanced IT skills, including the full Microsoft Office suite
  • Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy and quality of work is key

If you meet the key requirements of this position, please do share your CV with me today for review and if it’s the right match, a member of the TPP team will be in touch with you shortly. If you don’t hear back from us within 3 working days, then unfortunately your application hasn’t been successful on this occasion.
