As Financial Controller, you will report directly to the CFO and take ownership of the operational running of the finance function. This is a hands-on role that requires a proactive and strategic mindset. You will be instrumental in building robust financial processes, implementing scalable systems, and delivering high-quality financial insights to drive informed decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the finance function, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.
- Establish and refine financial controls and processes to support a high-growth environment.
- Develop and maintain timely, accurate, and insightful management accounts and reporting.
- Manage external audits, liaising with auditors to deliver accurate and timely statutory accounts.
- Oversee cash flow management, optimise working capital, and manage banking relationships to support the company’s liquidity needs.
- Lead the implementation and optimisation of finance systems to ensure scalability.
- Create and maintain detailed cash forecasts to ensure effective liquidity management.
- Design and manage budgeting processes to support strategic planning and business objectives.
- Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and standards.
Requirements
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with a strong technical foundation.
- Proven experience as a Financial Controller or in a similar role, ideally in a PE-backed or high-growth environment.
- A strong understanding of SaaS metrics is essential
- Track record of managing external audits and preparing statutory accounts.
- Strong understanding of cash flow management and treasury best practices.
- Experience implementing and managing finance systems in a growing business.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, capable of influencing stakeholders at all levels.
- A self-starter with a passion for driving change and delivering results in a fast-paced setting.
