Job Overview:

The Business Analyst is a specialist role within the Finance team and plays a key role in transforming the business through data analytics, process improvement & insight generation. The role is also integral as part of the overall business governance strategy by taking ownership of the quality & accuracy of data produced by systems and reported across all departments. Reporting into the Systems Manager, the role will also support wider systems operations & strategy, providing critical support to system procurement, testing & development, maintenance & governance.


Key Responsibilities:

Develop & enhance business process: Evaluate and analyse current business processes which rely on data & reporting to identify opportunities to improvement output & efficiency. The key objective here is to help the business more gain insight and enhance decision making.


Data analysis & reporting: Gather, analyse, and interpret data relating to business performance to generate actionable insights. This will include, but isn’t limited to the following; Financial performance (budget / forecast v actual, like-for-like analysis, revenue analytics etc)Leasing performance (new deals, renewals, vacant day targets, ERV v ARV etc)Facilities performance (resolution KPIs, categorising of cost and area of spend)Ad hoc trend analysis (internet traffic, demographic trends, door entry statistics, payment method analysis etc)


Technology & systems: Support systems manager to implement and improve various systems, platforms, and other digital tools. Provide recommendations for system enhancements to streamline operations. Assist with the day-to-day maintenance of these systems, platforms and tools, including, but not limited to, user configuration, system updates, template creation and KPI reporting.


Project management support: Assist in the planning and execution of various business projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and in line with business goals. This can include new and current processes and the implementation of new technology.


Stakeholder management: Collaborate with internal stakeholders (such as our Leasing and Tenancy Management) teams to understand business objectives and align strategies and reporting accordingly.


Financial modelling: Support the finance team by understanding and improving financial models to forecast future business performance, with a clear view to bridging forecasted data to actual data, allowing for detailed analysis of the business performance to internal stakeholders.


Performance monitoring: Develop and track KPIs related to property performance, sales, and customer engagement. Provide regular reports to senior management and ensure reporting is completed on time and accurately.


Ad hoc: Help with other items within the finance team as needed and help to cover and assist with one-off tasks where possible.


Must-haves:

  • Experience in a similar analyst role or finance background.
  • Good understanding of finance processes and the link to systems.
  • Good experience of different financial systems.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Use of Microsoft Office with excellent excel skills.
  • Strong can-do attitude & comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong team player & experience working with Finance & non-Finance colleagues.
  • Excellent, effective communicator.


Desired:

  • Experience working for a property or residential business.
  • Experience in developing, managing stakeholder reporting and financial modelling.
