RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing fit-out elements of the project to ensure the quality is a high standard, and that it is running to the timescales allowed and in line with client specification. The role holder will manage and monitor fit-out progress, be responsible for ensuring that high standards of quality, health and safety are maintained, making strategic decisions and providing leadership and direction to others to implement those decisions.

The Project Manager is required to report and update on project progress, devise cost-effective plans to enable effective project completion, and manage risks to avoid delays or reputational damage.


Main duties will include:


  • Take appropriate technical and construction decisions and ensure these are communicated.
  • Ensure the viability and profitability of the project, implementing preventive, corrective, and improvement actions.
  • Coordinate the performance of technical inspections.
  • Carry out technical feasibility studies, controlling quality and deadlines, reviewing technical documentation and resolving issues.
  • Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with board management. Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve Project goals.
  • Draft and submit budget proposals and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary.
  • Efficiently delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
  • Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project construction team.
  • Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.
  • Track project milestones and deliverables & adapt, where necessary, the execution of activities to ensure efficiency, in coherence with these objectives.
  • Determine the frequency and content of status reports from the project team, analyse results, and troubleshoot problem areas.
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.
  • Define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout project life cycle.
  • Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team members and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
  • Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project.
  • Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management.
  • Liaise with applicable legal and regulatory entities.
  • Additional duties associated with the role as determined by management.
  • Make sure that safe systems of work are established and maintained throughout the fit-out works and ensure that the workforce are competent to perform their tasks and duties.


ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

  • Bachelor’s Degree in in a relevant field (Construction/ Engineering) or equivalent

AND

  • Minimum 6 years of experience in a high-level construction management positions with successful delivery of a number of large, complex, multi-disciplinary projects with extensive experience in Engineering and/or Construction Project Management including buildings.

OR

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a high-level construction management positions with successful delivery of a number of large, complex, multi-disciplinary projects with extensive experience in either Engineering or Construction Project Management including buildings.


In addition to the above:

  • Valid CSCS card – Manager (Black)
  • Valid CITB Site Manager Safety Training Scheme or IoSH Managing Safely qualification
  • Fluent in English language - level C1 or above in listening, reading & writing.
  • Training and experience in Contracts Management.
  • Experienced in managing £ multi-million design and build contracts.
  • Skilled in both working within and leading project teams.
  • Computer literate and thoroughly conversant with MS Office suite and project management software (i.e., MS Project, Primavera).
  • Good numeracy skills and the ability to make mathematical calculation.
  • Advanced communication, listening and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrable problem-solving skills and experience.
  • Excellent attention to detail and proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Committed to diversity and inclusion.
  • Experienced in high level management of complex building projects.
  • Proven experience in managing the integration of a programme of work.
  • Commercially astute, with a good working knowledge of contracts.
  • Successful delivery of a Major Project or Programme of work in a similar environment.
  • Excellent Client Relationship Management skills.


DESIRABLE CRITERIA

  • Knowledge of the Spanish and/or Portuguese language
  • Project Manager experience in major hospitals.
  • IOSH/ NEBOSH safety certificate.
  • Member of the Association of Project Management.
