Backend Developer – Real-Time Systems

We are seeking an experienced Backend Developer to design and implement cutting-edge backend systems supporting real-time, interactive experiences. Leveraging your expertise in Postgres, WebSockets, REST APIs, and microservices, you will play a key role in crafting immersive, high-performance solutions. You’ll collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure smooth system integration and functionality. Your work will directly impact guest interactions, entertainment systems, and operational efficiency in dynamic, high-demand environments.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of backend development for interactive attractions and experiences.
  • Design and deploy scalable microservices using C# and .NET for real-time applications.
  • Manage and optimise Postgres databases to efficiently process large volumes of live data.
  • Build robust, real-time communication systems using WebSockets.
  • Develop and maintain REST APIs to seamlessly connect with front-end and hardware systems.
  • Partner with hardware specialists and creative teams to align software with physical systems.
  • Uphold high-quality code standards through peer reviews, testing, and best practices.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues, ensuring system stability during peak usage periods.
  • Lead and mentor team members, fostering a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.


Required Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Backend Developer working in C#/.NET within high-demand or real-time settings.
  • Solid understanding of microservices architecture and its implementation in interactive systems.
  • Strong proficiency with Postgres for creating and managing large-scale database solutions.
  • Demonstrated expertise in WebSockets for delivering real-time data communication.
  • Skilled in building and integrating REST APIs.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing for streamlined deployments.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on optimising real-time systems.
  • Leadership experience, with a track record of mentoring and inspiring development teams.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience with Jenkins for CI/CD automation in fast-paced environments.
  • Background in microcontroller programming for hardware-software integration.
  • Knowledge of ReactJS and TypeScript for full-stack development collaboration.
  • Passion for crafting interactive experiences and delivering impactful solutions.
