Job Title: Reading Intervention Support Worker (Maternity Cover)
Location: Reddish Hall School, Stockport, Greater Manchester
Salary: £19,233.92 per annum (Part Time also considered, salary dependent on hours)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am - 4pm
Contract: Fixed Term, Term-time only (Until July 2025)

About the Role
The successful candidate will have experience of working with complex young people, and knowledge and confidence in either Reading Recovery or Phonics intervention in either 1:1 or very small group settings. An understanding of developmental trauma and attachment issues is essential, as is a nurturing approach to support.
You will plan, deliver and resource interventions, and assess and report on the interventions, ensuring high impact on pupil progress and enabling pupils to achieve their potential. The post holder will work using their own initiative and solve problems effectively. You will be responsible for managing the behaviour of groups or classes of pupils efficiently and effectively using a range of behaviour management strategies.
Responsibilities
- To provide high-quality support on a 1:1 basis, either as withdrawal from the classroom or support within
- To plan, deliver, monitor and feedback small group/1:1 intervention in co-ordination with the class teachers/subject leads
- To observe confidentiality and to support the school’s endeavour to provide excellent teaching and learning for all students.
- Contribute to the safeguarding and promotion of the welfare and personal care of pupils and young people
- Take responsibility for personal professional development
- To provide feedback on pupil when required.
Qualifications Required
- GCSE English and Maths at Grade C or equivalent
