Are you seeking a new challenge in a dynamic and impactful organization? The Behavioural Insights Team (BIT) is looking for a passionate individual to support data-driven business decisions and operational excellence. This role involves explaining the story behind the numbers and working with various stakeholders to drive commercial performance, aligning with BIT’s social impact aims and continuous improvement.

About BIT:

Acquired by Nesta in 2021, BIT continues to share expertise and build capacity in applying behavioural science for social good

Role and Responsibilities:

This newly created role is in BIT’s Data team, reporting to the Head of Data Visualisation to support the day-to-day business running of Power BI and the improvement of efficiencies in the business. You will play a crucial role in monitoring data quality, correcting data issues, and supporting the finance team with month-end reporting.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Data Quality and Maintenance: Monitor reports for data quality, correct data issues, and ensure the main data system is current. Become an expert in using the system and advise users across the business.
  • Data Integration and Visualization: Use Power BI to connect to various data sources, manipulate data, and display it in an easily digestible format. Perform statistical analysis of data and create understandable reports and visualizations.
  • Ad-Hoc Data Requests: Handle ad-hoc data requests from around the business, providing support with exports from Power BI or other data systems.
  • Support Finance Team: Assist with the budgeting process for the finance team using G-Sheets and Power BI, and support month-end reporting by reconciling data between sources.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with stakeholders to understand data content and business requirements for reporting, and work to deliver these reports.

  • Communication: Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to explain complex topics in simple terms and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Time Management: Proven ability to manage deadlines and priorities to produce high-quality work within reasonable timeframes.
  • Teamwork: Although this role will be mainly independent, experience in collaborating with team members and providing support to ensure successful project outcomes. Ability to manage workload effectively and care about the success and well-being of others.
  • Ability to work independently: Ability to carry out all the above skills independently as this will be a self-sufficient role.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree (or equivalent qualification) in a relevant field, such as Data Science, Statistics, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a data analyst role, focusing on using Power BI (with both M-Query and DAX) for data visualization and analysis.
