We are excited to be launching a new not for profit business – Agincare Children’s Services – and we are now recruiting for a Managing Director Children’s Services to lead, develop and grow this new Agincare company, operating in this key growth area within the social care sector.


We are flexible regarding location nationwide; however you will need to regularly attend our Head Office, situated on the beautiful Jurassic Coast in Portland, Dorset.


About the Role

As Managing Director Children’s Services, you will report to the Chief Operating Officer and are responsible for controlling and overseeing all business operations, people and activities for the overall success of the business. Your key areas of focus will be:

  • Ensuring the company culture always places the welfare of children front and centre of all its dealings;
  • Develop, implement and lead the business strategy, to attain the goals of the board and shareholders;
  • Provide strategic advice to the board so that they have an accurate view of the market and the company growth opportunities going forward;
  • Create, implement and report on business plans, monitoring efficacy and progress;
  • Ensure company policies and legal guidelines are communicated throughout the company and that they are complied with at all times;
  • Oversee the company financial performance;
  • Communicate company reports and achievements to the board, shareholders, and business partners.


About You

You will need proven experience at Managing Director level or in another senior leadership role within a large to medium sized health and social care, preferably children’s services, organisation. Children’s services is a growing area within health & social care and for this reason you will need to have a background in developing businesses and change management.

You will have demonstrable experience of developing and implementing business strategy and plans to achieve company growth projections in a dynamic and competitive market. You have a strong understanding of finance and measures of performance and a high level of commercial awareness and business acumen.

As a high-profile business leader within Agincare, leading a new business start-up, you will need excellent interpersonal and communication skills, you will be a role model and leader, highly organised, able to analyse and critically evaluate in order to reach solutions to complex problems, able to keep calm under pressure and excellent at developing strong working partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.

You will need a full driving licence as although we are open to a nationwide location, you will need to regularly attend our Head Office in Portland, Dorset.

This role is not eligible for sponsorship, and so you must have the right to work in the UK.
