We are now recruiting for a Scientific Team Lead to join Sciterion.


The role


You will provide strategic direction and coordinate the implementation of client communication programmes or activities, focusing on strategy, content, and the overall quality of all deliverables.


Core duties and responsibilities


  • Intimately understand client and competitor products, therapy areas, portfolio, and commercial strategy in the context of the current and future market
  • Keep up-to-date with industry codes of practice/legislation and external issues or events that may affect existing accounts
  • Act as the Technical Lead on designated client accounts and projects
  • Provide effective line management to ensure training, development, and appraisal of all line reports
  • Contribute to team resourcing and recruitment
  • Work with client services teams and senior leadership to ensure all account objectives are met
  • Build relationships and liaise effectively with clients and external experts
  • Effectively troubleshoot or handle objections from clients or opinion leaders
  • Proactively provide creative ideas and strategic insights to assist and challenge the client's thinking and planning
  • Proactively suggest opportunities for growing existing client accounts
  • Contribute to the development of proposals, and present at pitches when appropriate
  • Advise on which members of the medical team might be suitable for involvement in specific proposals and pitch activities
  • Partner with the Client Services team to assist in the development of project specifications, cost estimates, and reconciliations
  • Communicate clearly to team members at all times and contribute to prioritisation discussions across teams
  • Promote and maintain a high quality of medical writing across the team
  • Demonstrate strong briefing and reviewing skills
  • Assist with the development, monitoring, and promotion of quality control processes and procedures
  • Ensure internal and external comments are addressed intelligently and question any that are inappropriate, inaccurate or unclear


The person


  • Significant experience within a healthcare communications agency, with knowledge of a broad range of communications activities
  • Previous line management experience
  • Life science degree educated
  • In-depth working knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry
