Our client is a Global IT Solutions company that is looking for experienced Infrastructure professionals with IT experience, who are looking for a role with a progressive and exciting firm.


Role Outline:

As an Infrastructure Architect, you will have the responsibility of designing and implementing information systems to support the technical side of the organisation. You will ensure that all systems are working at optimal levels and support the development of new technologies and system requirements. Part of this will involve analysing existing systems to ensure that they offer adequate security and are effectively meeting the needs of the organisation. Additionally, you’ll analyse business requirements to identify where to integrate new hardware, operating systems or connectivity solutions.

The Infrastructure Architect will also be responsible for managing an organisation's technological infrastructure. You’ll plan, design, assemble and oversee systems that keep operations running smoothly. This includes assessing existing resources, making recommendations for improvements, and providing ongoing support to ensure that the infrastructure can handle changing demands. Working closely with IT, operations, and other teams, you should develop strategies and action plans for implementing upgrades and integrations.


Required skills:

  1. Experience with a broad range of technologies and building enterprise architecture roadmaps.
  2. Experience designing, integrating, and managing complex infrastructure solutions.
  3. Knowledge of client-server networking and database management.
  4. Ability to provide technical system solutions, determine overall design direction and provide hardware recommendations for complex technical issues.
  5. Experience planning and developing support processes and adhering to best practices.
  6. Strong written and oral communication skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical audiences.
  7. Develop and maintain cloud infrastructure documentation.


Qualifications:

  1. At least 5 years of relevant experience.
  2. Bachelor’s degree in computer science or any relevant alternative – otherwise, would expect another 3 years of professional experience at the very least.
  3. Architecture Certification (TOGAF).
  4. Strong knowledge and understanding of VMWARE and Virtualisation technologies.
  5. Knowledge of SAN and Storage networks.
