Here at ISS as a leading organisation in the Facilities Management (FM) sector are looking to further develop their central Commercial function to match, and further support business growth for public and private sectors.


We employ over 27,000 staff, working to provide services within engineering maintenance, cleaning, catering, security and sustainability for client buildings ranging from data centres to hospitals


This role will lead the pricing of complex tenders and retentions, interpreting technical data and contracts, developing detailed costing/pricing models, completing client returns, risk and opportunity matrices and financial outputs to support highly competitive commercial bids.


This will be across private and public sector tenders for low, medium and high value contracts, on both Hard, Soft and TFM opportunities, offering commercial oversight & pricing support whilst our proposals are prepared. You will also support the Director with negotiations with the client and subsequently the mobilisation and contract implementation.


In short, you will contribute commercial oversight & pricing support to the commercial sales function to support delivery of profitable, sustainable and long-term growth for the employer in our Key Sectors. It will require interactions at both SLT and board level and will regularly be client facing.

A list of actions would include:


  • Retain and secure new business through commercially sound and competitive pricing
  • Provide commercial oversight on key opportunities
  • Seek new innovative commercial pricing solutions to develop winning submissions
  • Ensure contracts are profitable in both the short and long term
  • Support the CPD on strategic and complex projects
  • Support client negotiations, presentations and governance process
  • Act as a conduit into key specialist functions within the employer's UK and the Global business
  • Support existing contract commercial negotiations and issues
  • Assist in best practice being disseminated within the team
  • Maintain awareness of the FM industry, legislation and the various contracts in use
  • Contribute business improvement/efficiency ideas and initiatives
  • Deliver wider commercial projects within the commercial function


We need from you:


  • Clear experience in facilities management (hard and soft), working in an operational commercial or sales function, in both public and private sectors
  • Additional broad experience is desirable e.g. operations, legal, procurement, technical& soft services
  • Risk and opportunities analysis experience
  • Ability to present proposals, both internally and externally, in a professional manner and with a full understanding of the solution put forward
