The International Mobile & web team is responsible for accelerating the footprint of the American Express app across the 20+ international markets. Our goal is to drive a market-leading experience though customer-centred design delivered in partnership with key organizations across the company. We're looking for an energetic and highly organized individual to join our team.

The successful candidate should have experience supporting complex initiatives and go-to-market deliveries while thriving in a multi-workstream environment. Success in this role will be defined by the ability to deliver and optimise digital features, and partnering with fellow product teams, engineering partners, and market partners.

How will you make an impact in this role?
  • Supporting implementation of various features & capabilities for the Amex mobile apps (iOS & Android) in International, and longer term, website.
  • Supporting locally based Product Manager, on their strategies, initiatives and features, and broader team colleagues in US and UK.
  • Bringing digital features to the International markets, to solve local needs and help central & local business goals.
  • Partnering with engineering teams for all elements of the development cycle, user story creation & leading ceremonies.
  • Leading & supporting ceremonies with our engineering partners, actively contributing towards the backlog, ensuring our engineering partners have requisite detail to interpret user-stories & success criteria.
  • Supporting & validating technical requirements for capability and platform integrations.
  • Exploring data & analytics to identify opportunity areas, and monitor performance of features & the app/website post launch.
  • Maintaining documentation for features developed, and supporting broader team documentation.
  • Supporting internal tooling and tracking platforms.
  • Some degree of flexibility with working hours will be required as part of the role to partner with colleagues in other geographies.
Minimum Qualifications
  • A keen interest in digital & technology.
  • Experience in product management, mobile applications/web development, product operations & agile ceremonies are desirable.
  • Passionate and eager to learn. This role is an associate product manager. Someone who is willing and eager to absorb and develop over time whilst they refine their product skills.
  • Collaborative - our role is largely partnership driven; working with product managers, local market teams & technology partners is vital.
  • Technically minded & resourceful - with an appreciation of how to develop mobile & web features desirable.
  • Experience writing good user stories in JIRA, and appropriate tagging to epics desirable.
  • Proactive and enthusiastic - self-starter with a strong affinity to bring projects to a close in a timely manner.
  • Analytical & able to identify where improvements may be optimised for potential backlog consideration.
  • Strong communicator - someone who will speak up and proactively contribute to all conversations.
  • Multitasker and someone who enjoys a wide variety of challenges each day. This role has many different aspects that the successful candidate will need to manage simultaneously. Priorities and workload will be fluid.
  • Contribute towards the team culture through personality. Someone who enjoys the culture of the team, and able to be a key part of the team, even if not in the same geographical location as all of the team
