Job Summary:

Our client is a London-based prop-trading firm seeking an Execution Trader to join their Power desk. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing trades, managing risk, and optimising the trading portfolio.


This role requires a good understanding of power markets, strong analytical skills, and the ability to make quick decisions under pressure.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute power trades in line with the company’s strategy and risk management guidelines.
  • Monitor and analyse market conditions to identify trading opportunities.
  • Ensure accurate and timely execution of trades, including spot and forward contracts.
  • Monitor market trends, supply and demand factors, and regulatory developments to inform trading decisions.
  • Ensure all trading activities comply with regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate records of all trades and market transactions.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant professional certification (e.g., CFA, FRM) is a plus.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in power trading or energy markets.
  • Have excellent analytical, quantitative and problem-solving skills.
  • Coding skills (Python, R, Matlab, C++, C#, …) preferred.
