Machine Learning Engineer


  • Perm/full time

A YC-backed start-up in AI safety, is looking for a Machine Learning Engineer to join their founding team. The role is to spearhead the scaling of their fine-tuning and inference frameworks for LLM's.


Role:


  • Build an automated fine-tuning framework that can scale
  • Explore novel synthetic data generation techniques
  • Engineer robust, high-performance inference platforms
  • Collaborate in defining and steering their evolving inference and training stack


Experience


Technical:

  • Have experience operating orchestration systems such as SLURM, Ray, or similar.
  • Experience in creating and managing multi-instance clusters for data and model parallel training across GPUs/TPUs, preferably using PyTorch and Kubernetes.
  • Proficiency in efficient serving of large machine learning models at scale, including quantisation and distributed computing.


General:

  • Keen interest in AI and AI safety
  • Can demonstrate you can work in a fast-growing early stage start-up
  • A degree in Computer Science, AI or similar
  • At least 2 years professional experience outside university (post Masters/PhD)
