ROLE OVERVIEW

We are looking to appoint a school finance manager, you will need to understand budget control, month end workflows and ensure processes are aligned to balance business needs and internal control requirements. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with excellent stakeholder management who can build relationships quickly and likes to partner with the wider business. You will need to be a confident communicator and a team player with flexible approach to your work.




The role is responsible for:

• Accounts payable management, process invoices and credit notes, post/review/approve/ code, deal with follow up enquiries

• Ensure all accounts payable activities comply with relevant financial policies and procedures.

• Budget Management, support the headmaster and budget holders, regularly update the school budget status, review and approve school daily expenses.

• Deliver the monthly closing process, analysis transactions and prepare required journals

• Process journals and ensure all accounting entries are supported by relevant documentation for analytical review and audit

• Complete account reconciliations to review and clear the balance sheet account, including prepayment/accruals/payroll accounts, review the P/L including revenue and cost allocation, maintaining appropriate documentation for audit

• Support the FP&A team and prepare monthly management report and analysis

• Support the finance reporting team, including audit enquiry, tax filing, etc

• Provide support, assistance and cover across the wider finance team to manage team absences at peak periods




PERSON SPECIFICATION


Educated to Degree Level

Accountancy Qualification Part Qualified (ACCA/ ACA/CIMA / AAT or Equivalent)

3-5 Years experience

Previous experience within a school would be beneficial

Familiar with accounting systems, Microsoft business central dynamics would be a benefit

Thorough knowledge and experience in Accounts Payable, Budget and Month End Management

Ability to manage different workloads and demonstrate how to prioritise

Account reconciliation and analysis

Excellent use of Microsoft Office applications

Problem-solving abilities

Accuracy and attention to detail



The role does not manage any direct reports but co-ordinates and co-operates closely with financial and non-financial colleagues. You will form part of a close knit, energetic team who are focused on providing value add support to the Group.
