Project Manager - Nuclear Power Plant - Sizewell C Project - Hybrid role


We’re seeking a skilled Nuclear Power Plant Systems Project Manager to lead the delivery of key systems, structures, and components on our Sizewell C project. You’ll work closely with Supply Chain, Responsible Designer, and Quality teams, focusing on areas like Switchboards, Diesels, Primary & Secondary Circuits, Auxiliaries, and Utilities. A specific focus will be on managing the engineering, procurement, installation, and commissioning of primary equipment, particularly the Reactor Pressure Vessel.


Key Responsibilities:

Project Management:

  • Oversee the delivery of nuclear power plant systems, structures, and components within the specified program.
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams to ensure the successful execution of post-financial investment contracts.
  • Manage the end-to-end process for the engineering, procurement, installation, and commissioning of the primary equipment, including the Reactor Pressure Vessel.
  • Coordinate with Supply Chain, Responsible Designer, and Quality teams to ensure alignment on project objectives, timelines, and deliverables.

Design and Implementation:

  • Collaborate with site-specific teams to drive the implementation of design changes.
  • Ensure that all design modifications adhere to regulatory and safety standards.
  • Work closely with the Responsible Designer to integrate design changes into existing systems and structures.

Contract Management:

  • Manage contracts related to the procurement and installation of nuclear plant systems and components.
  • Monitor contractor performance and ensure compliance with project specifications and timelines.
  • Address and resolve any contract-related issues that may arise during the project lifecycle.

Risk Management:

  • Identify potential risks related to the delivery of nuclear power plant systems and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.


Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.


Experience:

  • Extensive experience in project management within the nuclear power industry, particularly in the engineering, procurement, installation, and commissioning of primary equipment such as Reactor Pressure Vessels.
  • Proven track record of managing multidisciplinary teams and delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
  • Strong understanding of nuclear plant systems, structures, and components, including Switchboards, Diesels, Primary & Secondary Circuits, Auxiliaries, and Utilities.


Skills:

  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.


Certifications:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent is highly desirable.
  • Relevant nuclear industry certifications are a plus.
