About the Company:


The Finance department deals with the company’s finances in terms of its overheads and its financial relationships with customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders. The department provides accounting services and financial support to all other elements of the organization. The business functions of the finance department typically include planning, organizing, auditing, accounting for, and controlling the company's finances. The finance department also produces the company's financial statements for internal and external use.



About the Role:


To manage, direct, and review the operations of the Account department functions to ensure that the company’s needs are met promptly and efficiently and that the required information in these areas is readily available. The Job holder oversees all aspects of the accounting and is involved in supervising and managing general accounting activities, analysis, business partnership, and maintaining adequate internal controls while ensuring statutory compliance in all accounting initiatives.



Responsibilities:


  • Drive the continuous improvement of end-to-end accounting practices for the company
  • Prepare and post monthly accruals, prepayments, and similar accounting entries.
  • Budgeting and forecasting.
  • Leading the analysis of monthly and quarterly numbers and presenting findings to relevant functional heads
  • Managing an end-to-end audit process of current systems – while acting as the first point of contact for external auditors.
  • Continually identify risks to delivery, propose solutions where necessary, and effectively manage stakeholder expectations throughout.
  • Dealing with working capital management and production of cash flow forecasts.
  • Leading the team responsible, VAT and HMRC processes/ compliances.


Qualifications:


A successful candidate will have various prerequisite skills and qualifications that typically include:



Required Skills:


  • Strong commercial experience of working within a company with intranational business activities.
  • Technical accounting knowledge and Experience working in a trading company.
  • Experience with SAP B1 and excellent Excel and modelling skills
  • Creating statutory accounts
  • Ability to delegate and manage the work of others
  • Experience of AP and AR
  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)


Preferred Skills:


  • Experience running annual audits and focal points for all internal control system relating to account/finance processes.
  • Experience with annual budgets, forecasting and cashflows modelling
  • Attention to detail and in-depth understanding of international and domestic laws and regulations
  • Track record of managing a team and getting the best of the employees within the team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of working with people at all levels within and outside the business.
