The Grand Hotel is one of Torquays finest 4 star hotels situated opposite Torre Abbey Sands with a spectacular view over the bay The hotel consists of 132 bedrooms forming different individual styles and views, The 1881 Restaurant, The Brasserie & Lounge, Leisure & Spa Facilities with indoor and outdoor swimming pools along with perfect events spaces which accommodates meetings, weddings and events.
As part of our exciting recruitment program, we are looking to recruit a Deputy Housekeeping Manager, reporting to the Housekeeping Manager on a full-time basis working to the needs of the business.
The position involves early, evenings and weekends and also due to the nature of the business will be required to work during peak seasonal holidays.
This a fantastic opportunity for a talented individual to join our hotel in assisting us to achieve our financial and customer satisfaction goals. You will be part of a challenging department in achieving high standard of customer care, creating the ultimate customer experience within our busy hotel.
Our Deputy Housekeeping Manager will assist and oversee a team of Housekeeping Assistants, Supervisors and Public Area Cleaners. The will also deputies in the absence of the Housekeeping Manager.
You will be responsible for organising your team to ensure our accommodation is ready and prepared to the correct standard when required. You will focus on engaging and supporting your team, offering training and development as a matter of course. Specifically, you will be responsible for making sure the following tasks are performed to the highest standards:
- Organise and schedule the team to ensure guest accommodation and public areas are presented to the highest standard.
- Develop operating procedures to facilitate an efficient service to the business and our guests.
- Co-ordinate training and development of the team, managing performance in line with operating standards. Make sure your team is supported.
- Be aware of and manage your financial responsibilities with regards to costs and budgets.
- Make sure stocks are protected and levels are managed correctly.
- Report any maintenance issues to the appropriate person.
- Deal with guests in a professional, friendly manner.
- Ensure your team comply with Health and Safety regulations including manual handling and COSHH regs.
- Maintain fire procedures and operate in a fire safe fashion.
- Effectively communicate with other departments displaying positive teamwork.
- Ensure equipment and materials are safe to use.
- Attend and complete any training as required
- Ensure accommodation is audited and checked prior to the guest arrival for high standards and consistency.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent candidates must have the right to work in the UK.
Live in accommodation is available on a temporary basis when relocating.
Pay: £28,500 per year
