Protea Recruitment is delighted to be working with a well-known food manufacturer seeking a Quality Assurance Supervisor. If you are passionate about quality in food production and have relevant experience, this opportunity could help you progress in your career.


Role Purpose

To support and supervise the implementation of quality assurance processes across production areas, ensuring compliance with site standards, procedures, and customer requirements.


Responsibilities

  • Assist in monitoring and verifying product compliance with legislative and customer specifications, including temperature, contamination, labelling, weight, and packaging.
  • Support the Quality Assurance team in ensuring that outgoing products meet required standards and are fully traceable.
  • Conduct label checks to confirm accuracy, quality, and adherence to specifications.
  • Perform quality checks and sampling in line with the site’s H.A.C.C.P plan and customer-specific requirements
  • Assist with equipment calibration and ensure accuracy of scales and machinery.
  • Participate in internal audits, supporting the resolution of any non-conformances and promoting continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with production teams to address quality-related issues and provide solutions.
  • Maintain clear and accurate documentation of quality checks, tests, and audit findings.
  • Assist with preparations for external audits and ensure compliance with food safety standards.
  • Undertake any additional tasks as directed by management.


Requirements

  • Previous experience in a technical or quality assurance role within food manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of industry standards, H.A.C.C.P principles, and food safety legislation.
  • Level 2 Food Safety certification required, Level 3 preferred.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate across teams.
  • A proactive approach to quality assurance, with high attention to detail and commitment to best practices.
  • Basic IT literacy and familiarity with quality systems.
  • Ability to support and motivate team members while ensuring adherence to standards.
