Job Summary


My client is looking for an experienced RF Communications Engineer to join their engineering team. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in TETRA, DMR, P25, and similar RF technologies, contributing to the development, testing, and optimization of mission-critical communication systems. This role will involve working closely with software engineers, network architects, and field teams to ensure their communications solutions meet industry standards and exceed client expectations.


Key Responsibilities


  • Design, develop, and implement RF communication systems for mission-critical environments.
  • Evaluate and test new and existing RF technologies (TETRA, P25, DMR, LTE/5G) to ensure compatibility and performance within their systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate RF systems with backend software and network infrastructure.
  • Conduct field testing to assess coverage, signal strength, and reliability across various environments.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve RF performance issues, both in the lab and in live environments.
  • Develop comprehensive technical documentation, including RF design specifications and user guides.
  • Keep up to date with advancements in RF and communication technology to provide insights for future product development.


Required Skills and Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience working with RF communication technologies (TETRA, P25, DMR, LTE, 5G).
  • Proficiency in RF design, analysis, and optimization tools (e.g., MATLAB, HFSS, Ansys).
  • Strong understanding of radio frequency propagation principles and digital modulation techniques.
  • Experience with test equipment like spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and network analyzers.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot RF issues in both lab and field settings.
  • Strong communication skills and experience working with cross-functional teams.
