Hours of work: 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday 08:30 - 17:00)

Main purpose of job:

As a Data & Reporting Manager, you will play a pivotal role in developing the company’s Data, Governance and IT strategy. Managing and executing data-related tasks in alignment with business and departmental objectives. Your responsibilities will include the line management of a team, ensuring the completion of the department tasks, to the required standards, within specified timelines.


Utilizing experience of building BI reporting and dashboards your department will provide the business with a suite of KPI’s, Customer facing, Finance and Operational reports and tools. In addition, you will be responsible for the IT architecture of the business including IT and mobile assets.


You will support key projects throughout the business for example: Board packs, KPI development, data warehousing, risk and gap analysis. To note we are currently reviewing Business Information options including Power BI



Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop the company’s data strategy reviewing business data structures and frameworks, transforming the data and management information provision for the business
  • Working with the Head of Program Management ensuring Data projects are delivered on time and in budget e.g. Data Warehouse project, including ongoing monitoring and development of the data warehouse
  • Managing a team along with third party software providers to obtain data to use in expanding our MI reporting (for exsample automation of data extracts from our Electronic Proof of Delivery system via API or other available methods)
  • Support delivery through the team, standardised management information reporting both scheduled and ad-hoc from complex data sets to key stakeholders are accurate and delivered in a timely and effective manner
  • Line management responsibilities, including all performance management e.g. appraisals, regular structured 1-2-1’s etc.
  • Hands on development to expand and maintain the current suite of dashboards and interactive reports in Qlik Sense.

To note we are currently reviewing BI options including Power BI

  • Develop and maintain reports distributed via email using SSRS
  • Creating clear project objectives from business problems with the aim of developing BI solution
  • Ensure reports are accurate, current and documented with up-to-date user guides
  • Build relationships with all departments, using excellent communicative skills
  • Own the IT infrastructure and Asset across the business
  • Lead data cleansing and migration work stream activities
  • Any other tasks as detailed by your line manager


Key Skills required:

  • 3+ years’ experience in a in a similar level role
  • Proven experience developing and managing the data strategy for a business
  • Proven people management experience
  • Experience of managing a team (line management & cross-company) to deliver successful projects
  • Experience in Qlik Sense development of dashboards and interactive reports
  • Experienced in data modelling and building complex MI from large datasets
  • Experience using SQL to extract data
  • Advanced Excel and VBA
  • Experience using SSRS for report visualisations and scheduled email outputs
  • Experience of data warehouse development
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, the ability to prioritise tasks for the team and work under pressure
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and other commonly used office packages
  • Ability to work to deadlines and keep track of multiple ongoing projects
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing workloads
  • A problem-solving approach to work
  • Helpful and positive attitude in a busy environment
