About the Role:

We are urgently seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to oversee a high-profile civil engineering project. The successful candidate must be immediately available to commence work next week and bring expertise in managing complex projects with tight deadlines. This role requires strong leadership, technical proficiency, and the ability to deliver results in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Project Oversight: Lead all aspects of the civil engineering project, ensuring progress aligns with defined objectives and milestones.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary liaison for project stakeholders, including contractors, consultants, and relevant authorities.
  • Budget Management: Monitor and control project budgets, ensuring cost efficiency and value for money without compromising quality.
  • Schedule Coordination: Develop, maintain, and oversee the project timeline to ensure delivery within the five-month timeframe.
  • Risk Management: Identify and address risks, implementing mitigation strategies as necessary.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all project activities comply with relevant safety, environmental, and industry standards.
  • Team Leadership: Coordinate cross-functional teams, including engineers, contractors, and consultants, to deliver project objectives.
  • Reporting: Provide clear and concise progress reports to stakeholders, highlighting key achievements, challenges, and next steps.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven experience (5+ years) managing civil engineering or large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills with a track record of successfully delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Familiarity with construction regulations, health and safety standards, and risk management practices.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
  • Must be immediately available to start and commit to the 5-month project duration.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience working on heritage, conservation, or environmentally sensitive projects.
  • Familiarity with managing projects involving public or visitor-facing infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of contract management (e.g., NEC, JCT).
