We are recruiting for a Games Developer for an innovative technology company based in Oxford. As a key player in the gaming sector, our client specializes in developing high-quality, optimized, and maintainable code for casino slot games. This is a unique opportunity to join a team dedicated to creating the best user experience imaginable across multiple platforms.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement and tune high-quality frontend code within a framework.
  • Collaborate with the creative department to deliver optimal, on-time, and defect-free gaming solutions.
  • Work with designers and developers to ensure games are performant and operable on both mobile and desktop platforms.
  • Advocate for engineering best practices and contribute to technology decisions and architecture discussions.
  • Mentor junior team members and lead on best practices in frontend development.
  • Skills Required:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working with HTML5 and TypeScript in mobile and desktop environments.
  • Proficiency with gaming/animation frameworks such as PixiJS or Phaser.
  • Strong knowledge of animation techniques using WebGL or Canvas 2D APIs.
  • Solid experience with GIT for version control.

Desirable Skills:

  • Knowledge of CSS, PostCSS, and SASS/SCSS.
  • Familiarity with CSS frameworks like TailwindCSS and Bootstrap, and responsive design techniques.
  • Background in maths, statistics, or physics, or experience in 3D development.
  • Experience with JavaScript build tools (e.g., Gulp, Vite, Rollup).
  • Understanding of logging and analysis tools (e.g., Elasticsearch, Rollbar, Sentry).
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of an internationally-based team.
