Under the direction of the Head of Credit Underwriting, you will be responsible for economic structuring , ensuring sound economic structuring and valuation, model development, pricing strategies, P&L reporting, profitability projections, and fostering investor engagement and liaison.


The Role:


Economic Structuring & Valuation:

  • Develop and implement robust economic structuring methodologies.
  • Conduct thorough valuations of potential credit opportunities, considering various economic factors and risk variables.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with overall business strategy.


Model Development:

  • Development and enhancement of credit structuring models.
  • Utilise quantitative and qualitative data to build predictive models that assess credit risk and inform decision-making.
  • Stay abreast of industry best practices and technological advancements to continuously improve underwriting models.


Pricing:

  • Formulate and implement pricing strategies for credit products, taking into account market conditions, risk profiles, and competitive landscape.
  • Collaborate with finance and marketing teams to ensure pricing strategies align with organisational goals.


P&L Reporting:

  • Establish and maintain a comprehensive P&L reporting framework for credit underwriting activities.
  • Analyse P&L data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  • Provide regular reports to executive leadership, highlighting key performance indicators and financial metrics.


Profitability Projections:

  • Develop and refine profitability projection models to assess the financial impact of credit decisions.
  • Work closely with finance and accounting teams to integrate credit underwriting projections into overall financial planning.


Investor Engagement and Liaison:

  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with investors, providing transparent communication and addressing inquiries.
  • Collaborate with the investor relations team to ensure alignment of messaging and reporting.
  • Participate in investor meetings, presenting credit underwriting strategies and results.


Joint Responsibilities with Head of Structuring:

  • Collaborate on ideation for new structures and proposals.
  • Contribute to the preparation of pitches, mandates, and deal teasers for capital markets.
  • Prepare and review selection committee submissions.
  • Assist in the evaluation of proposals.
  • Provide assistance and support to customers throughout the credit underwriting process.


The skills required:


  • A Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or a related field.
  • 8-10 years of experience in banking, rating agencies, fund management, credit structuring, or a similar role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
  • Experience in private credit and structured credit markets.
  • Familiarity with credit risk management practices and regulatory requirements.
