We are looking for a Mental Health & Court of Protection Paralegal to join our growing team.
We represent vulnerable clients often deprived of their liberty in a care home or hospital and we provide advice and representation on all aspects of Mental Health and Mental Capacity Law.
Part-time and full-time roles available.
The Role
Your role will involve:
- diary management
- processing initial enquiries
- attend meetings in person to take instructions from clients
- prepare legal aid application
- undertake legal research and instruct experts
- advise clients
- peruse evidence and medical reports
- prepare court bundles
- attend court hearings with counsel
- prepare court applications
- draft legal documents
- support solicitors in the running of mental health cases
- liaising with the court and third parties
- any other duties as directed by the supervisor
We offer training to all employees and there are opportunities for progression for the right candidate. Mental Health Panel Membership is a bonus.
Person Specification
- Excellent organisation and time management skills
- Proactive

- Able to communicate with vulnerable clients
- Excellent drafting skills
- IT literacy
- Experience in Mental Health or Mental Capacity Law preferred
Salary
Dependent on experience.
Working hours
9:30am to 6:00pm, Monday – Friday. Hybrid working. Part-time or full-time position available.
