My job

Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Head of Internal Control will be responsible for the internal control framework across Pilgrim’s Europe (scope is areas outside of PSSL). This will cover policy and process design, working towards consistency in approach and driving efficiency, and SOX compliance.

The individual will lead the team to ensure robust control and build strong relationships with key stakeholders, building strong processes and driving a continuous improvement mindset


Skills and Knowledge:

  • Qualified (ACA/CIMA/ACCA) with 5 years senior experience.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge
  • Design and operation of internal controls
  • Experience in internal or external audit
  • Proactive in dealing with issues
  • Continuous improvement mindset in processes and ways of working
  • Strong analytical ability
  • Challenging and able to influence
  • Able to build relationships across all levels of the organisation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills at all levels
  • Ability to meet challenging deadlines, prioritise work and be accurate
  • Ability to travel across the group
