What you’ll do

  • Write, execute, and maintain UI tests for Mercury.
  • Perform manual testing to ensure comprehensive testing coverage and identify potential issues.
  • Work closely with Developers within an Agile development team to test user stories during the development process, contributing to the overall quality of the software.
  • Effectively log and assist in prioritising defects using Azure DevOps, ensuring a streamlined and organised approach to issue resolution.
  • Collaborate with team members to iteratively improve working practices, contribute to regression testing activities for releases, and actively participate in creating an innovative and forward-thinking work culture while adhering to established departmental and company processes.


Who you are

  • Demonstrate a solid foundation in QA engineering with a proven ability to hit the ground running.
  • Strong skills in UI testing, including experience with tools and frameworks relevant to UI testing.
  • Practical experience working with Jira and/or Azure DevOps for managing tasks and projects, along with proficiency in Git source control.
  • Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies with hands-on experience working in Agile Development Teams, using frameworks like Kanban or SCRUM.
  • Demonstrable expertise in the entire testing life cycle, including defining test plans and scripts, executing tests, and effectively managing defects.
  • Ability to speak up, challenge, and question effectively, fostering a collaborative environment within the team.
  • Good proficiency in exploratory testing with a 'What if' mindset, enabling proactive identification of potential issues.


Desirable

  • Be ISTQB certified.
  • Experience logging and managing defects in tools such as Azure DevOps.
  • Experience in automation testing of UI using frameworks like Selenium would be desirable but not essential.
