We are currently seeking a skilled Community Development Co-Ordinator to support the implementation of a Neighbourhood Renewal Action Plan. This role will focus on empowering the community and voluntary sector to effectively address local issues, access funding, and promote volunteering initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the lead partner delivery of the Neighbourhood Renewal programme.
  • Develop terms of reference for programme delivery and guide the Neighbourhood Renewal Board through programme assessments, preparing recommendations as needed.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including public, private, and community organisations, to ensure coordinated delivery of proposed actions.
  • Oversee the technical support budget, including preparation and processing of claims and financial outcomes.
  • Manage projects funded under the Neighbourhood Renewal Programme and prepare necessary claims/returns.
  • Lead the delivery of local community planning priorities and projects, emphasising collaboration and public engagement.
  • Implement governance, policy, and administrative support arrangements for local community planning structures.
  • Initiate and monitor projects to deliver local community plans in partnership with stakeholders through a co-design approach.
  • Coordinate with officers to ensure a cohesive approach towards community plan outcomes.
  • Identify funding opportunities (e.g., International, EU, UK) and support the community sector in accessing these funds.
  • Engage statutory and other parties to support local community planning groups in addressing priorities.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of community development grant aid programmes.
  • Ensure timely and accurate input of management information statistics and report on key performance indicators.
  • Attend meetings, prepare reports, and monitor information as required.
  • Comply with all organisational policies and procedures, promoting high standards of personal behaviour.
  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety legislation.
  • Undertake additional duties as required to meet the needs of the organisation.

Person Specification:

  • A degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., social sciences, community development, business).
  • Minimum of two years' demonstrable experience in:
  • Community Development contexts.
  • Budget management and procurement.
  • Working with diverse stakeholders.
  • Identifying funding opportunities.
  • Grant aid and tender processes.
  • Technical Competencies/Knowledge:
  • Knowledge of Community Development strategies, practices, and policies.
  • Familiarity with Community Planning legislation and best practices in developing and implementing Community Plans.

Other Requirements:

Must hold a full current driving licence and have access to transport for job duties.
