The Brand Communications & Creative Director plays a crucial role in shaping the visual identity and creative strategy of the Lands’ End brand for the Europe business. Responsibilities encompass various aspects of the creative process, from concept development to execution.
The ideal candidate will be a hands-on, inspiring leader with the ability to craft a clear brand identity through impactful marketing experiences across all channels, inclusive of brand and creative direction, communications, PR, and social efforts for the Europe business. This position will have a keen eye for aesthetics, a strong understanding of marketing within the retail industry, and the ability to translate trends into innovative designs. This role requires a strategic thinker and visual storyteller that informs execution to drive business goals.
The Brand Communications & Creative Director will be equally passionate about cultivating, guiding, and inspiring a team to create a collaborative environment of ideation, experimentation, and innovation. This position reports to the SVP of Brand Creative and will work with US Creative team to concept global campaigns and interpret them for local consumers and audiences.
Please note this role is a hybrid working role and so will require some time spent in the Oakham, Rutland office each month. As part of the Leadership team some travel to our Germany office will be expected.
What can you expect from this Role:
- Collaborate with the U.S. creative team on global campaigns, while providing leadership to the European team for in market execution, while fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, continuous improvement and excellence.
- Ensure consistency in brand messaging, imagery, and tone across all creative deliverables, maintaining brand integrity and cohesion.
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, offering valuable insights and recommendations on creative direction and marketing strategies.
- Oversee occasional regional photo and content studio needs, including Photographers, Photo Art Directors, Stylists, Sample Management teams, Production, Video Production and Operations.
- Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in advertising and creative strategy.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration and alignment by cultivating strong relationships with key stakeholders across departments and levels of the organization, ensuring cohesive brand experiences.
This role requires a proactive self-starter with unwavering integrity. The ideal candidate will be adept at leveraging creative assets to deliver positive business outcomes, all while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and adaptation to change. To excel in this role, you must thrive in a dynamic, cross-functional, and collaborative team environment, consistently driving creative solutions in an integrated business environment.
This role is for someone with expertise in driving the development of visually compelling assets and multimedia content that resonate with target audiences, reinforcing brand identity and values. Strong project management skills are required to effectively prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, ensuring timely delivery and quality outcomes.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or relevant field.
- Proven experience in strong leadership skills in managing and inspiring a creative team.
- Retail experience, either directly or in a client-service capacity
- Demonstrated knowledge of consumer catalogue/digital trends and marketing cycles
- Multi-channel paid media experience – inclusive of TV, audio, digital media, and paid social
