With over 400 events hosted every year and more than 4 millions visitors welcomed annually, we are looking for a Venue waste manager to oversee the waste management operation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive waste management plans to minimise environmental impact and reduce waste generation for our own venue operations & venue partners.
  • Work alongside our official waste management supplier – on waste strategy and introduction of multiple new waste streams.
  • Proactively work to identify new revenue streams related to waste management, rebates, and such like, seeing them through from conception to implementation.
  • Coordinate with our official waste management supplier to ensure proper disposal and recycling of all waste materials and reduce contamination.
  • Conduct waste audits and analyse data to track progress towards waste reduction goals.
  • Support & Train staff on proper waste sorting and disposal procedures, significantly upskilling the team.
  • Work collaboratively with our clients to create event specific waste management plans, provide show floor waste ambassadors and other relevant measures, proactively supporting them with operational efficiency's & sustainability ambitions.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

  • Previous experience in waste management, environmental sustainability, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of waste management principles, regulations, and best practices.
  • Knowledge & experience implementing sustainable practices in waste management.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and educate diverse stakeholders.
  • Proven organisational and project management abilities, with the capability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
  • Certification in waste management or sustainability is a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively under pressure.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities whilst maintaining longer term strategic focus.
  • Knowledge of current industry trends and best practices.
