Blackfield Associates are exclusively working with a growing Pharmaceutical Company who are seeking their first Medical Affairs/ Clinical Development hire to drive the direction and growth of their medical strategy. This person will play a pivotal role in ensuring the clinical and scientific integrity of several pharmaceutical products in addition to growing and shaping the Medical Affairs function.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement medical affairs strategies aligned with the company's overall business objectives and therapeutic area priorities.
  • Provide medical leadership and guidance to cross-functional teams, including Clinical Development, Regulatory Affairs, Marketing, and Market Access, to ensure successful product development and commercialization.
  • Lead the development and execution of medical communication plans, including publication strategies, medical education programs, and scientific engagement activities.
  • Serve as a key medical expert and spokesperson for the company, representing medical affairs perspectives internally and externally.
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with key opinion leaders, medical societies, and academic institutions to advance scientific understanding and support the successful launch and uptake of our products.
  • Provide medical insights and strategic input to support the evaluation of business development opportunities, including licensing agreements, partnerships, and acquisitions.
  • Stay abreast of developments in medical science, healthcare policy, and regulatory requirements relevant to our therapeutic areas of interest.


Requirements:

  • Medical degree required with GMC registration.
  • Experience in medical affairs leadership roles within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Strong understanding of clinical development, regulatory affairs, and pharmacovigilance processes.
  • Demonstrated track record of successful product launches and lifecycle management strategies.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively engage with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven leadership abilities, including the ability to motivate and develop high-performing teams.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to think critically and make data-driven decisions.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Strong ethical and compliance mindset, with a commitment to upholding the highest standards of integrity and professionalism.
