As a People Manager - Employee Relations you'll support the development of an industrial relations strategy that engages with the union, balancing members' views with the needs of the business. You will also ensure our policies are legally compliant and fit for the future and work with operational teams to reduce risk to the business.


Some of your responsibilities will include:


  • You'll design policies that are legally compliant, simple and easily accessible for all colleagues
  • Create and update corporate, simple and accessible employee relations policies, handbooks and procedures
  • Reduce exposure to financial risk to ensure that all costs are managed in line with budget
  • Maintain and develop the union relationship at a national and regional level
  • Provide coaching, support and build capability in HR Managers and operational teams by reducing the number of colleague disputes


This is a hybrid role operating over a 4.5 day working week. This role is based at our fantastic head office in Bradford. Boasting an on-site restaurant, coffee shop, convenience and sample store, prayer room, free parking and regular company-wide events and promotions. Ideally, applicants will live within a reasonable distance of our office.

For this role, we’re looking for someone who has:


  • Strong HR experience in a fast paced and demanding face to face / multi-site environment
  • To have strong analytical thinking with a good commercial and financial understanding
  • The ability to work under pressure and build strong relationships across a wide range of stakeholders
  • Strong project management, organisational, decision making and communication skills
  • Expert understanding of complex ER issues and Employment Law, specifically redundancy and TUPE
