HERA was founded in 2015, under the premise of creating a new denim product for men that previously was unavailable; the spray-on skinny jean. HERA launched the Signature Spray On Jean as its debut product, and quickly began to gain notoriety among tastemakers and celebrities alike. With initial campaigns in partnership with celebrities such as Sofia Richie, the brand grew in popularity rapidly. Several high-profile celebrities began wearing the signature HERA look; including Lewis Hamilton, Connor McGregor, and Brooklyn Beckham among others.


In October 2021 HERA Clothing was acquired, in full, by Paul Richardson, an established British businessman. Following its acquisition HERA underwent a transformative period led by sisters Holly Beadle (CEO) and Georgia Streeton (CBO), undergoing a comprehensive revitalization, redefining its aesthetic and vision to enter an exciting new chapter, including the introduction of womenswear in September 2022 which has been a significant area of growth for the brand.


Since the acquisition the focus has been building a comprehensive and considered range of products, introducing new styles such as loungewear, cargo pants, t-shirt styles, outerwear, accessories and more, as well as developing a quality level of products to be known for and trusted by.

Your main purpose.

Your main purpose

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Designer is responsible for the creation of the HERA apparel and accessories collection from concept to completion across both menswear and womenswear.


As a Designer, you’ll start to set the direction and will be accountable for the full development cycle of products for inclusion in the final ranges, that represent key trends and drive commercial results and present a balanced overall range for our customer.


Secondary to the design aspects of this role, you will also be responsible for taking those designs from 2D to physical products via the development process.


Main accountabilities

The Designer will thoroughly research seasonal themes and inspirations, as directed by the CEO and deliver superior products from concept to completion that represent key trends and commercial opportunities, and create a balanced range throughout:


Design responsibilities:

  • A strong understanding of fabric, engineering, fit and quality
  • In-depth broad market and customer awareness and research
  • A thorough understanding of the Hera brand and customer
  • Lead and shape product development discussions that address key trends and opportunities
  • Strong graphic design creation and execution into the range
  • Developing broad industry and competitor awareness, identify and realise new product and design opportunities aligned to our overall strategy
  • Strong relationships and collaboration with Buying counterparts, suppliers and fabric mills


Development responsibilities:

  • Take samples through the sealing process, providing technical knowledge around production techniques, quality and fit during the development process
  • Monitor the production of sample garments and initiate any changes to the designs to fit manufacturing requirements
  • Attend fit sessions, to explain fit issues and ensure all customer requirements are actioned
  • Create size charts, you'll understand grading rules, garment detail and proportions
  • Guarantee that the fit is consistent across the collection and quality of garments is to the Hera standard
  • Liaise with colleagues with regards to ideas and changes that can be made to improve the garment/ design
  • Ensure that tech packs are updated with fit comments, spec and vendors informed
  • Risk assessing product quality standards and production issues including safety, wearer trials, performance, minimum make standards and potential production issues.

You have:

  • Minimum previous 2+years' experience as a Junior Designer / Designer or equivalent is essential
  • Clothing experience required
  • Qualifications or studies relevant to Design are essential
  • Must be able to provide a portfolio of Design work
  • Advanced Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop skills are essential
  • Product development skills essential
  • Strong creative design skills
