Senior Buyer (Civils)
An exciting opportunity for a developing and enthusiastic Senior Buyer (Civils) to join a civils & infrastructure division of a major European Infrastructure contractor, privately owned delivering innovative and meaningful schemes across the continent.
As Senior Buyer (Civils) you will be working as part of a national procurement division, and localised project team delivering schemes across the South coast, you will oversee both sub-contractor and materials buying as such a good basis of contractual knowledge is essential.
Construction schemes the business delivers provide positive improvements to major infrastructure including harbour defences, coastal protection, refurbishment of major infrastructure assets and work to help stabilise habitats as a result of the forever changing environment.
Core Senior Buyer responsibilities will involve;
- Managing regional civils infrastructure procurement input on pre-qualifications, tenders and projects as required.
- Compiling, and overseeing sub-contractor orders and materials enquiries alongside regional project delivery team.
- Liaising with site management on both sub-contract and materials procurement.
- Assisting in delivery of procurement strategy project to project.
- Checking all order number requests for relevant packages ensuring that the correct process has been followed and that all requisite checks have been made
Working in this position as Senior Buyer (Civils) you will need a good working knowledge of localised sub contractors and materials suppliers in the South West region, equally a sound knowledge of civil engineering and associated procurement strategies relevant to the sector.
In return your basic salary will be circa £62,000 to £68,000 p/a plus excellent benefits package including healthcare, generous pension contribution, birthday day off, company team building events, travel & subsistence, car or car allowance.
