About the role

Reporting to the R2R Manager, you will be part of the R2R Function within the Global Business Services team. You'll be responsible for all financial, management, statutory accounting, tax and reporting for the Devro Group of companies as well as partnering to the local businesses. ​


Responsibilities

  • Ensure the fiscal and statutory requirements for the Devro Group are observed in order for the company to be compliant with local legislation
  • Month-end/year-end reporting for the Devro Group including completing monthly management accounts, operating expenses, group projects, exceptional items, taxation and miscellaneous income and expense
  • Working together with the GBS teams to ensure all I2C & P2P processes and sub ledgers for the Devro Group are managed effectively in order to have an efficient period close process
  • Understand the strategy and performance of the Devro Group in order to provide value add support to the business for key business decisions
  • Communicate on a regular basis with site leadership and group finance
  • Develop and maintain accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements
  • Responsible for the clear and concise communication of company results to divisional finance and local management
  • Pro-actively communicates deviations from expected financial performance
  • Drive best practice across the R2R team globally and across the business
  • Support commercial activities by working directly with local management to measure, analyse and report on performance and profitability


Experience:

  • Fully qualified or qualified by experience accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA/CA desired)
  • Minimum 3 years experience working in a senior financial accounting role Knowledge and experience in IFRS
  • Experience of working in a manufacturing business is highly beneficial

Skills:

  • Strong leadership, verbal and written communication skills and comfortable communicating in English as a first business language
  • Ability to prioritise and organise workload and commitment to meet financial deadlines
  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure
  • Self directed and self-motivated with strong interpersonal skills​

Knowledge:

  • IT literate with advanced Excel skills and finance system experience essential, preferably JD Edwards
