Senior HSE Advisor – London - up to £65,000 + Bonus + Ex. Benefits – Permanent


Primary Purpose:

The primary purpose of Senior HSE Advisor is to support all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) activities across the organisation operating in a high risk manufacturing environment, ensuring compliance with regulations and promoting a safe working environment. The role involves conducting inspections, audits, and risk assessments, while managing incident investigations and developing HSE initiatives to foster a culture of safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Regular Inspections - Conduct safety and environmental inspections, identifying hazards and ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Incident Management - Investigate incidents and accidents, implementing corrective actions to mitigate risks.
  • Internal and External Audits - Support internal audits and facilitate external audits, performing root cause analysis and developing corrective action plans.
  • HSE Initiatives - Develop and implement HSE initiatives to promote safety and environmental responsibility.
  • Risk Assessments - Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and implement control measures to mitigate risks.
  • Legal Compliance - Maintain a legal register and ensure compliance with HSE legislation, liaising with regulatory bodies as needed.
  • Environmental Management - Monitor environmental impacts, including waste management and energy consumption, ensuring compliance with standards.
  • Emergency Response - Develop and maintain emergency response plans, conducting drills and training to ensure preparedness.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field is desirable.
  • Solid experience in an HSE role, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
  • NEBOSH Diploma, IOSH, or equivalent professional certifications.
  • Demonstrable background in a high-risk environment (i.e. manufacturing, engineering, nuclear, construction, rail) - advantageous
  • Knowledge and practice of auditing standards ISO 45001
  • Strong understanding of HSE laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills, along with proficiency in HSE management systems.
