Senior Buyer

What you’ll be doing:

As Senior Buyer at Ashtead Technology, you will coordinate activities to ensure critical goods and services are delivered to meet business requirements. Your role will involve key strategic negotiations to form agreements with suppliers and manage the overall buying process.

With support from the Supply Chain Manager, some of your key responsibilities will include;

• Strategic Agreement Implementation and Management – involvement in negotiating, implementing, managing, and monitoring strategic supplier agreements
• Supplier Relationship and Performance Management - optimising supplier relationships to achieve best value, delivery, performance, and payment terms and conducting regular reviews and agreement negotiations
• Sourcing and Purchasing - cost-efficient sourcing and purchasing of materials and services and raising of purchase orders
• Compliance and Quality Assurance – reporting on vendor quality and ensuring compliance with subcontract paperwork and QA requirements
• Supply Chain Consolidation and Improvement - support wider supply chain activities across multiple sites, identifying synergies and implementing improvement initiatives
• Audit Support and Operational Assistance – supporting with development of the audit plan, participating in supplier and internal audits, and assisting with invoice queries, vendor queries, and receipt of incoming goods
• Team Mentorship and Development – supporting business improvements and mentoring of admin teams on supply chain management principles and practices

You will also have demonstrable experience in a similar role, interacting with multidisciplinary teams. Integrity is also key as you will be dealing with confidential matters.
