About the Company: Our client, a leader in the UK space sector, is looking for a dynamic and talented RAMS Engineer to join their growing systems engineering team. This role offers a unique chance to shape the future of mission-critical systems while ensuring top-tier safety and reliability.
About the Role: As the RAMS Engineer, you will take a key role in developing our RAMS capability within the systems engineering team. You’ll manage broad activities, from owning complete work streams to delivering critical inputs for system-level analysis and licensing activities. This is a hands-on role where your insights and innovations will directly contribute to mission success and safety. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams, especially those in flight safety (GNC and Avionics), and help develop cutting-edge processes to meet mission assurance and regulatory requirements. Our client operates in the UK’s permissioning regulatory framework, meaning you'll have the opportunity to innovate, demonstrating compliance in ways that utilize this increased flexibility while maintaining safety standards.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with design teams to ensure products meet mission assurance and safety requirements.
- Develop and implement processes that align with government/industry standards to achieve regulatory compliance.
- Lead safety assessments and risk analyses (e.g., FMEA/FMECA, reliability, Weibull analysis) to support mission assurance and licensing applications.
- Maintain safety cases for vehicle operations and ensure safety throughout the system lifecycle.
- Support post-flight system analysis to validate system performance and identify improvement opportunities.
Qualifications:
Essential Experience:
- Proven experience in a safety-critical engineering environment, ideally in systems qualified for flight.
- Strong understanding and application of the systems lifecycle.
- Familiarity with industry standards (NASA, SMC, RCC, ECSS).
Desirable Experience:
- Experience in the space industry and across all phases of the systems lifecycle.
- Experience with FMECA, and safety case development in safety-critical systems.
- Knowledge of key launch safety subsystems such as Avionics, GNC, and flight termination systems.
- Experience with Releyence or similar RAMS software tools.
Compensation package: Full relocation and visa assistance: We will take care of everything, including support for your family. Comprehensive benefits package: Share options, generous 34 days of annual leave (including public and bank holidays). An opportunity to innovate: With the flexibility of the UK regulatory framework, you’ll have the freedom to create and implement innovative safety solutions without compromising safety.
