Our client is a well-established engineering company that designs and installs technical solutions. They are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to assist in key projects for the business. This is a great opportunity to move into a management role in the future.


The Role

Assisting in the design and development of control systems.

Be a contributing member of an assigned project execution team including a Project Manager and Mechanical Engineer to execute customer project orders from the sales handover phase through site startup and commissioning

Attendance at pre/post tender and contract meetings where there is a controls & electrical requirement.

Defining scope of works from the client’s brief/tender documents to produce detailed activity plan, estimates and quotations.

Review and analyse project specifications with special emphasis on electrical, instrumentation and controls requirements to identify costs and develop implementation strategies

Review and develop Process Flow Diagrams (PFD), Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (PID)

Produce detailed electrical controls and power distribution designs including wiring diagrams, electrical control schematics, panel layouts and cable schedules.

Providing technical assistance on obtaining quotations and preparing sub-contracts for control and electrical systems.

Sourcing and procurement of control/electrical hardware.

Maintain project time schedules & budgets for multiple projects in coordination with the Project Management team

Managing any electrical installation activities, including testing and commissioning on sites, including management of Subcontractors and providing progress reports.

Managing and resolving any issues that arise during the project lifecycle.

Participate in investigations, resolutions, and product improvement meetings


The Candidate

Minimum 5 years in electrical engineering.

Experienced in designing electrical control panels.

Engineering qualifications.

Excellent communication skills, capable of effectively managing stakeholder relationships.

Strong understanding of CAD software and other electrical design tools.

Knowledge of applicable codes, policies, and standards related to electrical engineering.
