Since launching, Jefferson Tools has introduced more than 2000 specialist tools and equipment to the UK and Irish markets, introducing hundreds of fresh, innovative products every year.


The brand boasts a wide variety of products for a range of different industries including compressors, generators, welders, hand tools, power tools, personal protection equipment, lighting, stepladders, heaters, pressure washers, accessories and so much more. We now have an exciting position for a Field Based Merchandiser to join the existing team.


As part of a growing team at Jefferson Tools, you will be responsible for the delivery and installation of point of sale stands and merchandise to a wide range of retail outlets across the both the North and South of Ireland.


This dynamic role is an exciting opportunity for a motivated, self-starter with a keen eye for detail and an interest in developing their career as a Merchandiser/Brand Ambassador for a fast-growing tool and equipment brand.


Key responsibilities:

  • Assist in the planning and development of merchandising strategies to maximise sales opportunities alongside the Marketing and Sales Managers
  • Ability to build and maintain product display stands for new and existing customers
  • Analyse merchandising activity within specific stores and customer groups to ensure promotions are producing the expected results and report findings
  • Recording and reporting customer feedback to relevant managers
  • Curate and upload content on the brands social media platforms
  • Recognising and reporting market trends and competitor activity to anticipate product requirements
  • Assist in the implementation of new product launch strategies
  • Attendance at customer trade show and sales events while assisting the Area Sales Manager (mainly Ireland and UK locations, occasionally Europe)
  • Any other duties as required by the business


The Person:

  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships.
  • Accuracy & attention to detail
  • Commercially aware
  • Ability to work additional hours from time-to-time as required by the company


Essential Criteria:

  • Full, clean UK driving licence and ability to travel for up to 3 days a week
  • Ability to work in Upperlands up to 2 days per week
  • Experience of working in a customer facing role
  • Experience of using social media platforms


Desirable Criteria:

  • Merchandising experience
  • Knowledge of tools (Full training will be provided)
