Leading Online Retailer now require a contract Cyber Security Engineer with strong experience of information security, threat intelligence and security tools including SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and antivirus software.


This is a critical role and the Cyber Security Engineer will not only be technically sound and be able to operate at scale but will be responsible for leading and guiding the business on Information Security and Threat Intelligence strategy.


The ideal Lead Cyber Security Engineer will have the following experience:


  • Expertise in a large enterprise business with experience managing a range of security tools such as IDS/IPS (network and host), advanced anti-malware (network and endpoint), DLP, encryption, antivirus, firewalls, identity management, NAC, etc.
  • Expertise of operating in a cloud environment (preferably AWS) and experience using cloud native technologies (Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform)
  • In-depth experience with Detection-as-code
  • Security frameworks understanding - NIST, ISO 27001, and PCI DSS
  • Python or PowerShell scripting skills
  • Strong understanding of network protocols, operating systems, and applications
  • Extensive knowledge of malware analysis and forensic techniques
  • Ability to analyse and interpret complex security logs and other data
  • Ability to provide guidance and support to junior SOC analysts
  • Experience with cloud security and virtualization technologies
  • Advanced knowledge and/or experience with Cyber Threat Intelligence
  • Deep understanding of the Threat Intelligence lifecycle and proficient at writing strategic threat reports


Desirable:

  • Crowdstrike or Cybereason
  • Logscale or Splunk
  • Logstash
  • Vectra or Snort
  • Certifications such as Security+, Server+, Linux+ GSEC, GIAC, GCIH, or CISM
  • Familiarity with security standards NIST Cyber Security Framework, NIST SP800-61 R2 and ISO/IEC 27035


  • Rate: £700 - £750p/d Inside IR35
  • Location: Remote, UK – Client is based in London and it can be arranged for this role to be hybrid if this is a preferred way of working.
  • Duration: 3 months rolling


If you’re an experienced Cyber Security and Threat Defense professional with experience working in a multinational environment and possess strong technical skills, (ideally Crowdstrike, Logscale, Logstash and either Vectra or Snort in an AWS / Cloud environment) please apply
