PURPOSE OF THE ROLE


By working in line with the company values of MiNA Therapeutics you will support the development of novel therapeutics in the field of RNA activation by developing foundational working practices and standards and facilitating the implementation of these across the organisation.


This role is crucial to the next phase of MiNA’s corporate strategy and will provide the successful candidate with a high visibility role with excellent scope for impactful contributions to the organisation. It will underpin the fluid movement of team members across the organisation and within the operational matrix and excellence in scientific standards.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES

  • At all times, work to the highest level of research standards, technical and scientific excellence; follow MiNA experimental protocols and traning QA guidelines
  • Establish cell-based assays for selecting and optimising novel oligonucleotides for RNA activation
  • Design and conduct pharmacodynamic analyses and mode of action studies
  • Provide general laboratory support to colleagues, working collaboratively with team members
  • Preparation of high quality reports, posters, and presentations for internal and external meetings
  • Prepare for, and particiate in, laboratory and project meetings to define research plans and objectives, as well as present data

· Record experimental output using the company’s approved electronic notebook in line with QA and QC guidelines

  • Design, plan, execute, document, and interpret experiments that advance the internal researchprogram
  • Conduct data analyses with critical evaluation
  • When necessary, guide and mentor junior scientists through mentorship, supervision, and training and ensuring the team work at a high level of scientific excellence
  • Monitor the academic literature and meetings for the latest developments in the field

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS

Professional Experience and Technical Knowledge/Skills


Essential

· Demonstrable experience of innovating and critically assessing scientific data

· PhD in relevant discipline

· Demonstrable experience of developing research methodologies, models, approaches, and techniques

· Excellent attention to detail

· Experience of assessing and organising resources

· Excellent oral and written communication/presentation skills

· Experience and demonstrable expertise in planning work independently on multiple projects


Desirable

· Previous experience working in a biotechnology or pharma company

· Prior experience working with RNA therapeutics or oligonucleotides

· Willingness to occasionally work irregular hours
