The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of Azure services and solutions, along with proven experience in designing and implementing cloud architectures. A key aspect of this role is assisting in a large cloud migration initiative and managing governance and technical aspects of this project.


Responsibilities include defining and maintaining cloud architecture roadmaps, evaluating and implementing cloud technologies, and providing guidance on cloud best practices. This role requires forward-thinking to ensure that our cloud architecture aligns with business objectives and supports scalability, reliability, and security.


Duties and Accountabilities

  • Lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and highly available cloud solutions on the Microsoft Azure platform.
  • Define and maintain cloud architecture standards, best practices, and guidelines to ensure consistency, compliance, and alignment with business objectives.
  • Collaborate with the partner firm responsible for building the cloud infrastructure, offering architectural insights to ensure alignment with overarching objectives, particularly in the context of Azure cloud migration strategies.
  • Work closely with the Cloud Managed Service Provider (MSP) post-migration to ensure that security measures and overall infrastructure adhere to architectural best practices and are well-optimized for Azure cloud environments.
  • Stay current with emerging cloud technologies (beyond just Azure), trends, and best practices, and evaluate their potential impact on our cloud architecture.


Skills, Knowledge, and Experience

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Have Microsoft Azure certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Azure Administrator Associate (strongly preferred).
  • Possess extensive experience in designing, implementing, and managing cloud solutions on the Microsoft Azure platform.
  • Have in-depth knowledge of Azure services and solutions, including Azure Virtual Machines, Azure App Service, Azure Storage, Azure Networking, and Azure Security.
  • Be experienced with cloud migration methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Have a strong understanding of infrastructure-as-code (IaC) principles and experience with Terraform or similar technologies.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Be a self-starter requiring minimal supervision, with excellent organizational skills, and demonstrate a proactive approach to identifying issues, presenting solutions and options, and leading to resolution as appropriate.
  • Experience in the insurance sector is a plus.
