The Strategic Deal Executive will work alongside the A&R Exec (who proactively searches for artists that align with the firm's investment strategy). This involves researching industries, monitoring market trends, and identifying companies that may be seeking investment, facing financial challenges, or looking for strategic partners.
The successful candidate will lead the negotiation and closure of strategic deals while collaborating closely with the A&R, Underwriting, Legal, and Finance teams. The focus will be on financial forecasting, analysing artist royalty data, and presenting compelling commercial propositions to the end client.
In addition to the immediate impact, this position offers a clear path for career progression into people management as the company expands further across Europe.

What You’ll Do:
In this role, you'll blend commercial acumen with a passion for music, working at the intersection of analytics and artist relations. You'll lead negotiations, close deals, and support artists through the royalty transaction process.

Responsibilities: • Project Management: Lead, negotiate, and close strategic opportunities by collaborating closely with A&R, Underwriting, Legal, and Finance teams to ensure alignment with both company and artist objectives. • Data Analysis: Analyze and organize financial data and royalty statements for artists to craft compelling commercial propositions that align with their goals. • Sales Process: Oversee the final stages of the sales process, including the creation of pitch documents, closing deals, and managing the royalty rights transfer process. • Cross-Functional Role: Operate at the intersection of music, operations, and data analytics, directly contributing to the democratization of music catalogue monetization. • Tracking & Tools: Monitor key deal points and conversations using internal tools such as HubSpot, Airtable, and Notion to ensure seamless coordination and follow-up. • Industry Insight: Stay informed on industry trends, competitor strategies, and emerging technologies in music fintech to maintain a competitive edge. • Client Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with mid-market and independent artists, acting as a key client-facing representative. • Team Management: Manage a team of 2 A&R Executives, with the potential to expand your team to up to 10 members as the role grows • Operational Role: Serve as a strategic, consulting, and operational partner, working closely with independent, smaller firms and clients to drive success.
Requirements: • 3+ years of experience in private equity, investment banking, or relevant finance/professional services • Ability to decipher data and craft a suitable pricing plan/ forecasting model for artists • Ability to navigate complex deal structures • Experience in opportunity and risk assessment, with informed decision-making skills during negotiations • Ability to interpret and synthesize legal agreements • Attention to detail, strong work ethic, and enthusiasm for a startup environment • Passion for music and culture, with an interest in new business models for artists • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration - client facing experience • Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Finance, or a related field
