About the Role


The QA Engineer has a pivotal role in supporting the creation of Cera’s solutions for our carers and customers. A key focus of this role is to ensure that teams are enabled to develop Cera’s technology helping us to provide great care to all of our customers while improving the experience of everyone involved in care delivery. You will wear many hats in this role, working with our engineering teams (on and off shore), UX teams, operational staff and carers. Performing continuous testing at all stages of the deployment process, including testing in production. This requires a deep knowledge of our processes and a passion for using technology and people to improve them. Your work will have a huge impact on the way that care is experienced.


Role and responsibilities:


  • Ensure quality throughout the software development process, focusing on safe software delivery and following key principles and ways of working stated in the STLC.
  • Ability to prioritise and identify critical user journeys, keeping the end-user experience at the forefront.
  • Embed quality within the development team, emphasising the importance of quality throughout the development process and promoting a culture of continuous improvement and emphasise that everyone is responsible for quality.
  • Ability to be adaptable and flexible in a fast paced and agile environment
  • Test software with reliability and stability in mind, keeping an eye on production monitoring
  • Collaborate effectively with developers, designers, product owners and other QAs in your team
  • Ability to provide solutions to problems/issues
  • Exhibit and advocate high standards when it comes to Ticket hygiene
  • Ability to hold others to high standards
  • Ability to lead by example
  • Playing the role of a QA advocate within Engineering
  • Team Player

  • Ability to work with Autonomy



Skills/Experience required:


  • Automation experience using Playwright with Typescript
  • Experience with APl testing (e.g. Swagger, Postman)
  • Experience with testing of Single Page Applications (e.g. React)
  • Working in a high performance environment and be able to change priorities to meet the needs of project delivery
  • Exploratory testing
  • Understanding web applications and debugging techniques
  • Test planning (Test Cases, Test Plans, Test Strategy etc)
  • Advanced understanding and usage of Jira
  • Advanced understanding and usage of Test Management systems
