An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Electrical and Facility Controls Engineer to join our Design team in Test Facilities Engineering within the Engineering, Test and Safety (ET&S) division in Derby.

In this role, you will work on a wide range of test equipment across the aerospace business sectors which are an enabler to the key objective of “Better Data Faster”.

It’s a locally managed and flexed informal discretionary arrangement. As a minimum we’re all expected to attend the workplace for collaboration and other specific reasons, on average three days per week.

What you will be doing:

You will need to have the confidence and ability to work as part of a team and take the lead on technical projects. You will:

  • Design new process equipment and corresponding control systems.
  • Integrate new and existing equipment into the test facilities.
  • Ensure the design and validation provides equipment which works safely and reliably with the gas turbine under test.
  • Capture and analyse the requirements and prepare system specifications.
  • Design, monitoring and accepting the third party supplied systems.
  • Implementation and development of external and internal standards.

  • Qualified to degree level or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Experience in requirements capture/analysis methods, such as Systems Engineering.
  • Knowledge of generating Functional Block diagram and/or ladder for process simulation and machine controllers.
  • Good understanding of sensors, effectors, and the application of signal conditioning in the overall system design.
  • Good knowledge of current products, technologies, and methods.
  • Experienced in Graphical User Interface and Human Machine Integration design.
