What you’ll be doing:

  • Developing and maintaining excellent customer relations
  • Managing team, or teams of teams depending upon value and complexity
  • Developing and maintaining a detailed project plan that embraces all elements of the project
  • Driving ownership of Work Packages and tasks throughout the project team
  • Managing the project or bid to ensure all milestones and objectives are achieved
  • Using project management techniques, to enable early disclosure of problems and effective implementation of mitigation actions
  • Achieving the agreed project cost, sales, margin and cash flow targets
  • Accountability for performance and delivery of program(s)

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • Proven track record in delivery of a project or bid within tight timescale in a high pressured environment to ensure all milestones and objectives are achieved
  • Using project management techniques, to enable early identification of problems and implementation of mitigation actions
  • Skills of developing and maintaining excellent customer relations
  • Experience of all aspects of a detailed project plan that embraces all elements of the project

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in Aerospace/Defence business
  • A formal project management qualification (e.g. APMP, PMQ, PMP or Prince 2) or equivalent experience
  • Broad cross functional business experience
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent – business or engineering preferably
  • Experience of mentoring and coaching

The Project Management team:

This exciting opportunity is within the Project Management Team at Electronic Systems at Rochester. You will be leading a multidiscipline IPT which could be anywhere within the lifecycle of cradle to grave for our product development of military and commercial products.

You will have the opportunity to work on a portfolio of projects with a rough estimate of £20 Million in value. Some travel will be required to various sites and globally on an ad-hoc basis.
